Here are six things I'd never do on a cruise after working on them for three years. So, even though I enjoy lobster, I stick with the items without the upcharges. Related storyI prefer to buy as I go and take advantage of happy hour and other drink specials that are available on certain cruise lines. I've stayed at all-inclusive resorts around the world and seen first-timers make the same mistakes. I thought all-inclusive resorts didn't foster experiences unique to a destination. It was peaceful, quiet, and far from anything I envisioned when it came to staying at an all-inclusive resort. Between the picture-perfect accommodations and excursions, I was willing to challenge thoughts on all-inclusive resorts. We were told to meet at the outdoor dinner table at 7 p.m.Sure, Thatch Caye missed some elements of many all-inclusive resorts. DNA remnants found in fossil of 6 million year old turtle

Researchers excavate the 6 million year old fossil remains of a sea turtle of the genus Lepidochelys near La Pina along the Caribbean coast of Panama in this handout photograph taken in 2015 and obtained by Reuters on September 28, 2023. Cadena said the only older vertebrate fossils than the newly described turtle to have been found with similar DNA remnants were of two dinosaurs - Tyrannosaurus, which lived about 66 million years ago, and Brachylophosaurus, which lived about 78 million years ago. Cadena said DNA remnants also have been reported in insects dating to tens of millions of years ago. The turtle is from the same genus - Lepidochelys - as two of the world's seven living species of sea turtles - the Kemp's ridley, the world's smallest sea turtle, and the olive ridley, Cadena said. "Each fossil, each fossil site has specific conditions of preservation that in some cases could have favored preservation of original biomolecular remains such as proteins and DNA," Cadena said.

Old video sparks wild theories on fate of Russia's Prigozhin

The Kremlin said Western suggestions he had been killed on its orders were an "absolute lie." "Today we have reached the boiling point," he said in the clip published on Grey Zone, Wagner's Telegram channel. He added, "But I will not lie, I must say honestly that Russia is on the brink of disaster. Some posts speculated Prigozhin was alive. One post said Ukraine had killed Prigozhin by order of US special services "and the Anglo-Saxons" and added, "it is inconvenient for us to lose such a hero," to which someone responded with three crying-laughing emojis.

Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was killed in a plane crash near Moscow. An old video has surfaced in which he says he would rather die than lie and makes a plane crash analogy. The clip has sparked speculation about the way he died, and whether he is dead at all. The mercenary group leader, who led an aborted coup against Russian military leadership in June, was killed in a plane crash outside Moscow. Twelve of the 15 players who took part in the mutiny and ended up not making Spain's World Cup squad decided to stay silent, giving no interviews and making no mention of the Women's World Cup on their personal social media accounts. The 15 e-mails from 15 players sent to RFEF President Luis Rubiales demanded radical changes in the team's structure. PLAYERS SILENTReuters tried to contact the players through their agents, who said they will remain silent. However, Spanish agent Carlota Planas, who represents world champions Mariona Caldentey, Cata Coll and four of the players who were left behind -- Pina, Guijarro, Lola Gallardo and Leila Aouhabi -- told Reuters the revolt played a major role in Spain's World Cup success. "Without them and their bravery, surely the RFEF would not have even considered making any improvements at all," Planas said.

Opinion | Can Everyone Take a Sabbatical?
  + stars: | 2023-06-25 | by ( Tish Harrison Warren | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +2 min
I spoke with a group of business people and other leaders of faith who have come to see sabbaticals as a crucial spiritual practice. It’s important to clarify what a sabbatical actually is. What a sabbatical looks like depends on the field. For clergy, sabbaticals provide a break from the intense relational and spiritual pressure of running a church or a nonprofit. For most people in academic fields, a sabbatical offers an opportunity to take a break from teaching in order to focus on research and other projects.

In the years immediately after Bausch’s death, the company was run by the longtime Wuppertal dancer Dominique Mercy and the rehearsal director Robert Sturm; they were succeeded in 2013 by another veteran dancer, Lutz Förster. “I was prepared to say no,” said Charmatz, who was initially approached by a search committee. "It's not Hezbollah shooting, but it's hard to believe that Hezbollah didn't know about it," Tamir Hayman, a former head of Israeli military intelligence said on Twitter. In response, Israel has hit targets in Gaza linked to Hamas, which it holds responsible for any attacks from the blockaded coastal strip.

[1/2] A screen shows the ceremony in which Norma Lucia Pina prepares to take the oath as president of the Supreme Court of Justice while speaking on a television screen in the press room of the Supreme Court building in Mexico City, Mexico January 2, 2023.REUTERS/Henry RomeroMEXICO CITY, Jan 2 (Reuters) - Mexico's Supreme Court on Monday elected its first female president, who has pushed back against the government's nationalist energy agenda, amid a succession process clouded by allegations of plagiarism against another justice competing for the job. By a 6-5 majority vote, the justices chose Norma Pina to head Mexico's highest court, putting in place a member appointed to the tribunal under the previous administration. Esquivel vehemently denied the accusation, which triggered an investigation by her alma mater, the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). His electricity bill ended up at the Supreme Court, and Pina cited Mexico's constitutional obligation to cut its carbon footprint in voting down sections of the law, including one that gave priority to CFE in connecting power plants to the grid.
